Not really. Manufacturing cost for insulin are about 3-6 dollars for a months supply, the Walmart brand will cost about 80 bucks, big pharm is about 500 bucks. they're all gonna get rich

Regardless of manufacturing costs and profits ... if "Big Pharm" charges $500 and Wally World charges $80 ... I figure it'll help SOMEBODY.

Big Pharm takes insurance, Wally doesn't

I’m already using the Walmart branded human insulin that goes for $25 a vial. I’m not at all sure how Medicare is going to handle prescritions for this newer technology insulin but I welcome it. I won’t use it prolly, but it’ll help some folks. When I tried to use Humalog on MEdicare it put me in the donut hole in June. So fuck ‘em all.
This was made possible because original patents are running out on the technology, not from the goodness of anyon’s heart.

Well, the way I look at it, competition is what drives prices. If Wally World offers something for $80 that others sell at $500, I'd have to assume the money-momgers will have to cut prices to compete. Man-o-man, I remember the gas wars when I was a young pup. I loved those, but don't ever expect to see them again in my lifetime.

What happened to that deal for cheaper insulin that Trump set up? Oh yeah, got cancelled, didn't it?

No need to cancel something that never happened in the first place.

It's more likely that WM will raise theirs to $500

A good rule of thumb is to question everything you see on the internet or TV that you can’t independently confirmed. It’s a sad state of affairs. But, that’s the world we live in.

Can't decide if it's better to remain blissfully ignorant or to be informed and pissed off all the time. I think I'm trending towards the former.
