Nebraska at Illinois: I like Brett Bielema and wish him much success but I think there's more talent and comparable coaching at Nebraska
Huskers 34-24

UConn at Fresno State: Two teams I know nothing about. I'm gonna say Uconn in an upset 28-23

Hawaii at UCLA: Too early for any significant data but in an ordinary season UCLA should win. Bruins 40-28

UTEP at New Mexico State. One is perennially bad one is perennially worse. I'll go with the bad. Miners 38-20

Southern Utah at San Jose State. The game nobody cares about. San Joe-see beat the hogs like a rented mule under Chad Morris thus expediting his departure posthaste. Thank you San Hosay. Spartans 44-17

Slim pickins! I can’t wait for Georgia-Clempson. A helluva great opener. Both schools oughta be congratulated on taking that risk.

QA is back, baby! I don’t know enough about any of these teams to have an opinion either way. I’ll sure as heck be watching though!

3-2 first week. Not a bad start.

I think I may have vastly overrated Scott Frost's coaching abilities, Nebraska is horrible at least at this point of the season. Let me make some observations. When your QB was the leading rusher on the team last year his name had better be Vince Young. Why on earth would you start a QB that can't read a defense OR throw the ball downfield unless you're one of the service academies? Unless the Huskers improve exponentially there will be a small college hiring a very mediocre coach named Scott Frost in late December

Illinois is a virtual clone of Arkansas during the Beliema years only less talented. I will give a better informed opinion after a couple of weeks but right now I could see the Illini in Radiance Technologies Independence bowl in a couple of years against the Fighting Chippewas

I think the Uconn womens hoops team could have put up a better fight against Fresno. I ought to get a mulligan on this one

I'm not a Pac 10 fan but I feel like LSU is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated and I hope UCLA exposes them like Thumper in his Santa suit by about 40.

Big slate of good games this weekend, Football is back and about time. We might average at least 8 post a week on the site now

QA, looks like Tulane-OU will be moved to Norman because of Ida. Tulane retains home status and gets to keep the gate. I was hoping they’d play here and say proceeds go to Ida victims but a good payday for Tulane isn’t bad either.

Half a hundred by half.

Is Alabama-Miami a trap game?

I’m taking the Ragin Cajuns over Tejas.
