Great day in the field with #3

We attended a free pheasant hunt w/guides and dogs put on for First Responders and Vet's by Tails a Wagging Hunt Club.
I grew up pheasant hunting, did my first one when I was 14. Didn't know how I'd do at my age, but had little problem walking the fields. Even managed to get 5 birds, but really enjoyed watching #3 get off some great shots. He was using an old Ithaca Model 37 we got from Larke, it was very special for him to use it today.
Perfect day, low 60's, little overcast, no wind. Dogs are a pleasure to watch do their thing. Two Short Hairs, well trained and fun to watch working the birds.
Great time in the field with family.

I did an annual pheasant hunt for many years. It was a great time with friends and I really miss it. I hunted over a Chocolate Lab that was a real treat to work with.

When I was a kid the annual pheasant hunt was family time, as a kid I carried BB gun to start off with. The last few years I've traveled to White Lake, SD to hunt at a great lodge with friends. The guide uses Vizslas, and the do some fantastic work. This year I'm actually going to take 2 trips to White Lake. The first is a family trip and I'll be hunting with my dad, cousin, and son. I have to say I'm really looking forward to it and @ Oct 16th it isn't far away.
