good friends. Buddy of mine gave me two shoulders and four hind quarters of deer tonight. Said he's cleaning out his freezer and when I get this processed he's got two or three more deer and a hog to get rid of.

I may not even need to buy a hunting license this year. Good thing I bought new blades for my grinder last year

Good deal! When should I show up to eat? ;)

My wife leaves sunday so I'll try to have it all ground by then. Monday-friday I'll be batching so pick a day or two. I can do chili or meatloaf or burgers or soup or stroganoff or stuffed peppers or any numbers of things. Or maybe just hamburger steak with gravy and onions or steak fingers.....man I'm versatile

You’re a versatile chef and I’m a versatile eater! Sounds like a good week to me! ;)

I miss those days sometimes. I’d do nothing but the tenderloin and everything else was burger. The there’s nothing more versatile than a freezer full of burger meat. Looks good Q/A.

That’s pretty much how I do it Thump. Backstraps and tenderloins whole and ground the rest for burger and sausage.

Given how terribly EHD has his us here in central and western North Dakota, I might have to see if your buddy has more venison he is willing to part with.

If a man lets tenderloin sit that long, I might have to question his character.

After I got it all put in my freezer anyway.

I was wistfully thinking how good tenderloin and eggs tasted in deer camp just yesterday. Now you’vegiven me a full on hankering.

Actually he keeps the tenderloins, but I have access to a tenderizer and even the hindquarters make pretty good steaks after four or five trips thru. Being an ex butcher, I have a little knowledge of muscle structure so breaking the individual muscles down and slicing across the grain before tenderizing helps too

I've got a flat of big old double yolk yard eggs and I had some steak and eggs with biscuits and gravy the other morning.....it was larrupin

I made venison sausage gravy biscuits when I was down at hunt camp a couple of weeks ago. Just thinking about it makes me hungry all over again.

Barry, I have plenty of back strap in the freezer if you want some. I took JB to my lease before my surgery and we killed 5 does.

Thanks Trav, I may take you up on that when I have fewer irons in the fire.

Sounds like you and Jean Val Jean did some cleaning up out there!

Still processing free deer. So far I've got about 40 lbs of ground meat and 20 or so lbs of tenderized steak. And three knuckle roasts

God is good
