I think I need to get some additional humidity "protection" for my safe.

I was in it last night, and notice some green-shit is trying to start growing on some of the leather I have in there.....one sling and one holster.

I HAVE one of those "golden rods" in there now......well, actually it is black...but you know what I mean.

Thinking about getting some kind of desiccant or dehumidifier or somesuch. I HAVE some OOOOLLLDDD desiccant bags, but to "recharge" them you have to put them in a 250° oven for about 12 hours. Not sure I wanna do that.

SO, I was looking at this kindofa dealie this morning, and wondering if any of youse guys are using anything except for the "golden rod".

I've just got one of the "golden rods". Those do look kinda nice though.

Where my wife works they always get a bunch of packages of dessicant in the boxes their stuff comes in. I had her snare me a big bunch of those packs and keep them in my safe. It seems to have done the trick and I don't have to worry with power or a dehumidifier. It probably depends on how damp it is as to whether this would work for you or not but its worked great for mine.

I have a golden rod that stays plugged in all the time. However I keep one of these in the safe all the time, I have two of them. I keep one plugged in recharging, and one in the safe...
