I’m sure a lot of you saw this already on Facebook but I’m going to post it here too.

Saturday night I took my 11 year old son to a Delta Waterfowl banquet. It was his first banquet of any kind.

Some of you may remember that I used to be very active in Ducks Unlimited and was even the chairman of the local chapter for several years. That chapter folded under some trying circumstances and it really had me burned out. I hadn’t been to any banquets, DU, NWTF, Whitetails Unlimited, etc. since then and it was about 15 years.

Anyways, back to the point. My son walked out of the banquet with several items, a hat, t-shirt, a trail cam, and a .22 rifle.

The rifle is a Rossi RS22 semi-auto so it’s nothing fancy, but looks like it could be a decent starter gun.

That's a great night. I have lots of great memories from Ducks/Turkey/Quail banquets. Trav and I use to run the Oklahoma quail unlimited banquet and that was a right of fun.

Those Rossi’s are a very popular and well reviewed first rifle/shotgun for kiddos.
Both my boys had Rossi single barrels for their first shotgun/rifle.
