Every red blooded hairy chested American male likes a good sandwich so what's your favorite, and I don't want to hear the words cucumber or pate mentioned.

1) Bacon cheeseburger hands down
2) BLT. Fried eggs or jalapenos can be added
3) Ham and cheese, it can be naked or with accoutrements. Grilled is also acceptable
4) Open face roast beef slathered with gravy and sauteed onions
5a) Chilidog with onions, shredded cheddar and jalapenos
5b) Fried baloney with mayo and a thick slince of fresh tomato

What say ye?

BLT and fried egg
Braunschweiger and bologna

Heathens. You left off the best sammie on the planet: thick sliced baloney and cheese on white bread smearedwith Dukes and a big slice of homegrown tomater and vidalia onion. Lettuce optional.

When you're right you're right, fried baloney and mater sammage needs to be up there, it's been added now

1) Hot dog with chili and slaw
2) Grilled roast beef with onion cheese
Honorable mention: roast beef with potato salad

Although tbh there is nothing wrong with your list as is. :)

Cheeseburger, maybe with mayo and tomato. Not a thin pressed burger, but a thick, juicy 1/2 pounder, need to be grilled, not fried w/ Colby Jack, or American, fresh backed bun, not something out of a plastic bag. Something you need a napkin to wipe the juice off your face.

Bacon cheeseburger is my favorite. However a really good rueben is really hard to beat. A bad rueben is awful!!!

A GOOD cheeseburger pretty much along the lines of what Bubba described with GRILLED onions.

A GOOD pastrami sandwich with mustard and pickles.

A GOOD pulled pork bbq sammich with slaw (ON the sammich)!

I do like a good fried egg and cheese sammich with bacon, Miracle Whip and Tobasco.

Don’t EVER give me no danged mayo on ANYTHING! (It gags me) Only Miracle Whip for me.

We had ruebens at Toby Keith’s restaurant and they had bacon on them. Which made them almost heavenly.

Don't get me wrong Thump, I like octopus but the texture is hardly conducive to what I consider sandwich material

Ha ha ha! Frankly, I agree with you 100% on that one, but figured I'd play along. I really don't think it would make good sammich fixin's.

I love me a big ole breaded tenderloin sandwich. Top it off with some lettuce and mustard. Of course to be a good one, the tenderloin has to be about three times bigger than the bun.

Another late addition....fried Spam with mayo and cheese

BarryBobPosthole
04-19-2022, 04:17 PM
I’m a fried spam conniseur. I usually eat half the slices as they cool offa little out of the pan and save a couple slices that might makevit to a sandwich. I remember being poor enough to bake a loaf of spam in the oven with cloves stuck in it like a ham for Christmas one year when I was in the AF.

If you’re a Spam connoisseur then you know that you can slice it thin, roll it in flour, and fry it crunchy and it’s even more better

You guys crack me up sometimes. 😊

Reminds me of when I moved to NC and discovered liver mush. Didn't expect to like it but I did. I'm betting Cappy could have given us a real lecture on the various ways it can be made into grand cuisine lol.

If I didn’t t have family that lived in PA, I would have no idea what scrapple was. Never seen it anywhere here in the Midwest.

Scrapple is one of those things that you eat, but are better off not knowing what it is made of. It's one of those regional things ... there's something similar in the south called "liver mush". Whatever floats your boat.

Chicken Dinner
04-20-2022, 03:49 PM
There isn’t nearly as much bad stuff in scrapple as the name implies. It’s mostly cornmeal seasonings and broth with a few tasty bits mixed in.

Actually, the locals kind of confused me. Most of the young hotties kept calling me Adonis, while the more “mature” ladies always called me Apollo. Heck, I have no idea where those names came from or why they called me that, but I just rolled with it to be polite. ;)
