Well...it finally happened

That nasty old bug that has been making the rounds for a couple of years finally caught up with me.

Symptoms for me were/are mostly a sore throat, aching legs, and feeling just plain ol' tuckered out. I seem to be getting better now but at the worst I would nap twice a day and still sleep 10 hours at night. No nap today and even had enough ambition to get outside long enough to put a couple of new ends on a 30 amp cord.

Hoping that no-one else I was around ends up with it.

Glad you're on the mend. I've been traveling a lot and managed to escape it thus far. Hoping the first two times I got it has given me some immunity.

The govt said, in actual fact, that the injections would prevent you from getting the disease at all. Turned out to be not so true so they changed the message to "it will prevent you from dying". Revisionism at its finest. How do you know that it even does that? Admitt it, we been bamboozled.

I got the shot because I saw little downside.. That being said I always thought (and the shot wasn't available when I got Covid first) that my odds of not being the 1% was pretty good. That feeling only got better when I got COVID and was hardly sick and was only sick for 1.5 days. I still remember going in, back when you had schedule a covid test, it was the second day of having it..they took my temp (98.6) and said are you sure you're sick...3 days later they called to say I have Covid. By that time what I had wasn't COVID it was cabin fever. This was back when it was a 14 day quarantine and that was by far worse than my covid cold.

Cranky is what I am right now. Hottest part of the year so far, my a/c packed it in and I can't get a service guy out till 5 Aug. Might melt before then. Oh yeah, my 3.5 year old fridge gave up the ghost early this month and it took weeks to replace it. Total clusterfuck. Nothing works anymore.

Glad to hear you’re on the upswing Bwana. Wife and I got it pre-vaccine and I can’t remember being that sick for that long. Pretty sure I’ll be getting it again on the upcoming vacation we’ve got planned. Seems like that’s happening an awful lot.
