Last week we had 4 days of mid 30's w/ snow / rain mix. My rain gauge showed 4 1/2" , which would have been over 4' of snow if it was cold enough.
Some of you may have seen on TV that the UP had 18 to 24" of the stuff. It was a little early, but sort of a wake-up call as to what we have to look forward to.
This past week-end we had our Indian Summer, 3 beautiful days of clear skies and temps in the mid 70's
(ya that's Michigan for ya) Perfect time to get things done.

Mowed the lawn for the last time and winterize the mower
Put the summer ride in the pole barn along with the boat and camper
Put the patio furniture under cover and took my hammock down.:crybaby
Had the landscape people come over and blow out the sprinkler system
Put up my one storm window
Change the furnace filter and turn on the humidifier.
Turn on my gas fireplace log
Got the snowblower out and make sure it ran

Now, just waiting for Old Man Winter to show his ugly face.
We're staying home again this winter, having lived through 78 years of his beauty and misery it's something we just are use to.
Hope all you folks have a great winter !!
