We heard gas is going up at least $0.25/gal. tomorrow, so here I sit at Sam’s Club topping off both cars. Lynn’s in front of me gassing up now, then I’ll pull in and she’ll fill me up! :thumbsup

Well, the 25-cents didn’t happen, but it did jump up to $3.12 today. :(

Gas has been $3.59 around here for a number of weeks now but not sure how those folks in California can afford it as gas was $6.35 or more per gallon when we were in Tahoe/Reno area a few weeks ago.

I don't know what it is around here.... I squint my eyes when I'm getting ready to fill up so that I don't see the price. :)

I do know when it will make a big jump though: right after the election.

Draining strategic petroleum reserve is what has stabilized prices. They will not only be forced to stop draining it, they will have to refill it. The world has changed in this calendar year. I think the days of cheap energy are behind us. IOW will have to learn to squint harder at the pump lol. :p

Well, it jumped another 30 cents overnight. It’s now up to $4.29. [emoji35]

That’s a 15% increase in just a couple of days.

CONSPIRACY THEORY: The oil companies are giving a big F-you to Biden and the Democrats just in time for the mid-terms.

Gas has definitely gone up, but I drive 1/3 of what I did in the past. With less travel, remote work, and in general staying home I put about 7,000 miles on my current vehicle. In the years past I would easily hit 20,000 miles. When I do fill up it hurts, but its far fewer fill ups than in the past.

We use the gas buddy app on our phones to find the best gas prices when we’re ready to fuel up, especially when we’re traveling. On our last trip, we stopped to fill up (can’t even remember where we were) and I was at the pump next to a big class-A DP motorhome. I spoke with the guy and remarked how happy I was NOT to be filling HIS tank. He then finished pumping and told me I should peek around and look at the total on his pump. It was a hair over $600 !! I told him he must have been in fumes when he pulled in and he said he still had 25-30 gallons when he stopped. Ouch!
