We tok the kids to the Columbus OH zoo last summer. At the Bonobo habitat, the kids got an inpromtu lesson in the birds and bees. Seems Bonobos have very little conflict within their troops. The reason- any stress they get it on. We watched the care takers throw in some fruit- bananas, apples.... The ones that did not get food right away: just grabbed a nearby female and started boinking..... Once they were able to grab some fruit, the first group did the same.
One who finished feating first started playing and throwing poop. This was right next to the sign that stated Bonobos may be the closest relatives humans have.
