Wow. Spring is late for us. I just noticed the red buds blooming this morning. The grass really hasn't even started greening up. I thought you guys were pretty close to us in your seasons.
I guess if the gobblers are running around with their beards in one hand and their peckers in the other that spring has sprung!

Diva had a Jake at 10 yards this morning and Archer would not let her shoot it. She is shooting Hammerheads .20 ga turkey gun. I told he to shoot ANY male turkey she wanted too. She has never killed one and a Jake would have been fine for the first one. They are back out now and I'm hangin' at the house to give them the whole place to move on birds.
Got my fingers crossed for them...

So when do we see a picture of Archers and Diva's birds?

They had a bird opening morning at 10 yards but Archer would not let her shoot cause it was a Jake.
They did not see anything yesterday morning but heard a few gobbles. I had one nice bird behind some thick stuff and probably should have shot but didn't chance it. I also had a Jake at 6 feet and let him go also.
I put them in a new spot this morning where I KNOW turkeys roost. So hopefully they will get one this morning.

Way to go Diva and glad to see you had the little one along too. Goes to show patience does pay. (Doesn't hurt to know a turkey hunting fool who goes out of his way to cater to the critters and is willing to share either :) )
