April 22, first day this year the temps have gone above 60 degrees. May even reach mid 60's yet.
But rest of the week we're back into the upper 40's low 50's.
Damn this is getting old. :pissed

April 22nd is the most dangerous day of the year for weather in Oklahoma. So far so good......about 75 and windy but a pretty day.

Water temp today was 63.............

Water was 68 degrees at Chicot, today....slipped off for a few hours at noon, and brought home 14 momma slabs, full of eggs....kept those for a fish fry, but tossed back the other females.

I caught two crappie. I am cursed.

I'm about to give up on them this year.

Ed, I've been to 8 lakes in the last 3 weeks, and caught 9 tiny TINY ones total, and 2 good ones, period.

This is my year to get bent over, it seems, in everything. But I can't find a fish. Period. When I left yesterday, a guy was leaving. He asked how I did, and I told him TWO. He said "They weren't in the brush? They were up there for over a week till last Thursday". I said "Yeah, story of my life. 'Shoulda been here yesterday'". When I hear they're hot at X, I go to X, and they are gone. Yesterday the overflow parking lot didn't even have a spot. I had to park illegally. By noon, I drove by the ramp and it was almost empty. I talked to five boats. Between them they had 4 fish. One party barge had 3 crappie, but they caught them trolling deep water.

I'm honestly losing interest.
