Some time back I mentioned the design my oldest did in his digital design class for the Earth Day celebration and how his design won was chosen as the winning entry for the State Event.

Forward to a couple of weeks back - there was a state-wide competition held for a national program known as SkillsUSA. The boy competed in one individual event and one team event and when the smoke had cleared he took first place in the individual event and second place in the team event. In addition to getting both a gold and a silver medal he also won a $1000 scholarship to a local college along with a few other trinkets.

We thought that was pretty cool but even better is that he now gets to compete on the NATIONAL level at an event this summer in Kansas City, Missouri!

To say my wife and I are proud of him is an understatement.

Any must-see things to do between here and Kansas City?
