To bastardize Emerson, "Zero tolerance policies are the hobgoblins of little minds." Hands-down, I live in the most liberal school district in the Commonwealth of Virginia and my kids go to school talking about guns, shooting pencil guns, and have even brought in round balls from my muzzle loader for show and tell when they were studying colonial history. Never has there been an inkling of an issue.

I think it must be their proximity to DC. It's obvious by the politicians that are there, that there is a huge black hole centered there that sucks any lick of common sense out of everyone.
