I'm kindof sortof looking for a nice .22 rifle that will shoot 22 Long CB Caps accurately.
That would eliminate most all semi-automatic rifles.

I have been using a Browning BL22 for some time. It does OK, but I HATE the trigger on that rifle.

If you were looking for a good .22 rifle, what would you look for?
If you have (or had) one, what kind is/was it, and what do you like best about it?

CZ and the triggers can be changed out for quality after-market triggers. If not that a good used Remington 541T. However the latter is hard to find.

A pre64 Winchester model 63

You are welcome.
Take Care, Captain
Edit;
I just noticed you said CB caps. You don't want the semi-auto for that go with the 61 or 62 pre-64.

I'd take an Anschutz. The one I have is a tack driver, and I've had several people ask me who did the trigger work on it, and no one believes me that it's never been touched.

If you can afford the Anschutz (an outstanding rifle btw), then may also want to look at Cooper's and Kimber's as well.

I'm definitely an Anschutz man (54 actions) but *for the money* I don't think there's anything out there better than the CZ. Last I knew Whitaker's still had some 452s they were selling out for $369. I wouldn't have a Savage, Marlin bolt or a Cooper (.22s) up my .... gun case. Neither locks the bolt with the safety on. Fine if your shooting out the back door but worthless as tits on a boar hog if you a carrying it through the brush. Now - all that said.. if you are looking to shoot cbs as more than a single shot you are probably going to have something with a tubular magazine. I'm also a fan of the 39A . If feeding anything but LRs is a priority, you may just want to consider a trigger job on your Browning. Timney or someone like them may make an after-market trigger.

I like the idea of getting a trigger job on the old Browning.....if I can find a good smithy. Be a lot cheaper....but I would loooove one of those Anschutz or CZ units.

I had the foresight to buy 1000 rounds of CCI 22 Long CB's right before the craziness hit. :headbang

Does anyone have any knowledge on the new Marlin XT-22 rifles?

I got two bricks myself, right after Xmas, regular price. 1100 rounds.

Now I just need 1100 squirrels. ONE squirrel while camping chewed through Mama's new canvas 'outside kitchen thingy' and ate all the hot dog buns. Wouldn't 'shoo' away, scared of nothing. Looked and acted a lot like Captain.

Ruger 77/22 V.

Any old Winchester 69, 72, etc.

Western Field 31.

Heck, even a remmy 581 with a little trigger work.
