I sometimes prod around e-Bay to see if I might stumble on something that sells. I can't for the life of me understand the draw to some things ... it seems like you could sell used bubble gum and people would line up to buy it!

Anyway, a few minutes ago I stumbled upon this little jewel. An old, non-descript, beat up (rust covered/rusted through, bullet riddled, broken flag, broken/missing latch) crappy looking mailbox! It sold for $124.50! BUT ... don't forget to add the extra $28.40 for postage (total: $152.90) AND it had 27 frigging bids! Sheeesh ... I may start driving around the country knocking on doors and offering to install brand new mailboxes in exchange for their old ones!

Check this out ... then if you want to scratch your head in wonderment ... do a quick search on e-Bay for "vintage mailbox" or "rural mailbox" ... whatever. Sheeeesh!

Seems like you can sell any old junk if you just put the word "vintage" in front of the description.

Ha! Mr. Niner ... ya' haf'ta scratch it up, hit it with a hammer a few times and shoot some holes in it ... THEN it'll be worth sumpin'! Oh, and of course, Elvis has to own it first. ;)

Sheesh, it seems someone could pick those old things up for a dime a dozen.

Vintage sells Johnboy ... heck, on 90% of the razors I sell ... the ad starts with "Vintage, collectible ....". ;)
