Hey Len, what's the secret to taking those really awesome moon pictures? the ones where the moon looks huge?

Get up close?

a solid tripod, high quality camera sensor, a long lens (at least 300mm) and an aperture of 2.8 or wider. Even then you have to dial in on the exposure. It ain't easy! I've dropped more than a few f bombs in the past trying to do it.

I was wondering how to do it from a boat. A moving boat.

Depends on what you mean by high quality iamge if you're shooting from a boat. Sounds pretty difficult :) I had the best luck with shutter speeds so slow you couldn't possible hand hold it.
