Sounds like I might be heading there for a conference in September, anything to do there besides eat seafood?

Side trip to Newport? I don't remember how far it is. But, we're talking RI. So, it can't be too far.

Used to hang out there quite a bit to party on the weekends ... but that was over 40 years ago ... so I wouldn't have a clue! ;)

Yes, Newport. Providence is a rundown blue collar town. Newport is touristy but for good reason. It's a really pretty part of the country.

Will there be fall foliage as early as September? Southwest has a flight there and back when I traveled a lot and got free flights often I always wanted to surprise my wife with a long weekend there in the fall. Never made it though.
Take some pics and let us know how it goes!
And take a picture of the Senator from Rhode Island. Is he really really short? Like in the movie?
