I just got a note from a friend of mine letting me know he has published his first novel. It's a historical fiction novel set in Revolutionary war times and is the story of the Overmountain Men. One of my friend's direct ancestors was an Overmountain man and he says the story is loosely based on him. The book is King's Pinnacle and is written by Robert Gourley. I met Robert in 1986 at a startup telecom that became MCI Worldcom. There were 80 people in the dompany at the time. He's a EE PHD and is one of the smartest people I've ever met. He's also one of the funniest and nicest of my friends. I can't wait to read this book.
