First day of bow season! :D
If we had a hunting room I could post it there. Or get my picture of the month for first blood...
And my camo does match!

Len I can't honestly remember but I was thinking its got to be close to 20. I could go back to my picture book and figure it out.
I'm at the farm planting food plots for Bambi so Conine and Arty will have some good looking stuff to shoot over when they come down soon.
There was 4 bucks early this morning one was a shooter and the other three spikes and basket racks. Of course the shooter was the ONLY one of the four that did not get right for a shot. With only two buck tags in NC I was not going to hang one of them on one of those peckerheads. This doe came in about 6:45 and I shot her at 6:56, and heard her fall just a few yards away. Set there for a few minutes and when and loaded her up and off to the processor to get some fresh Tenderloin cubed up.

Congrats Captain. I love that long running success streak you've had with that stand.

You can eat venison. One of the healthiest proteins you can eat. You just have to learn to grill it or use it ground in recipes instead of just frying it all the time. Venison in stead of ground beef in spaghetti is an awesome meal. Or venison instead of beef tips with noodles is awesome too. Just use whole wheat pasta instead of regular or make your own with semolina flour and make your own marinara instead of the store bought and you'll be fine.

I have to tell you, one of the things that I did that helped my A1C readings more than anything was to avoid ANYTHING with HFCS in it. For some reason my body doesn't metabolize that shit very well. Most pasta sauces have it in them. Homemade marinara is a snap and tastes about 1000% better. I have some good recipes I stole from Giada (nice rack!) that are great.

This is 20 years in a row if my memory serves me right. you had 17 in a row going into the year of the big drought (year before last) and was concerned your streak might be over

The good ol' Curve In The Road stand!!

Cap'n you should have one of them outdoorsy shows on TV. You'd be a heckofalot better than some of them yahoos they have on there.

AND, I can make us a Hunting Room in no time at all.......IF you really want one.

There IS a Trophy Room for pics and such. BUT, it's kindof like the mythical Fishing Forum....lots of cobwebs and crickets chirping!!!

No need for a hunting room I was just pickin'. If it was up to me we would only have one room, and place for archives and recipes...
We barely keep enough folks here to keep one lively. :D

Congrats, Cuz....hot as it is down here, right now, if we shot a deer, it'd be medium rare before hitting the ground. ;)

I meant the gravy and mash potatoes, right now!!

Yes if you can post those in the recipe form, that would be great.

I like venison. Always backed it in the oven. Never had it fried.

What did you "Back" it with? Could you not put it in the oven forward?
