CUSTER COUNTY, Oklahoma -

The Custer County Sheriff's Department is seeking information from the public after the skeletal remains of six people in two separate cars were discovered in Foss Lake Tuesday afternoon.

According to OHP, the cars were discovered during a training session with a new sonar device.

Crews pulled two vehicles from the lake in Custer County. The first was an early 1950's model car that had three bodies inside. Sheriff Bruce Peoples told the Elk City Daily News he believes the remains belong to a couple last seen in Canute in the early 1960s. The two were reportedly on their way to Foss Lake and never seen again. It's unknown who they believe is the third body.

The second car pulled from the lake also had three bodies inside, believed to be three teenagers reported missing from the Sayre area in the early 1970s.

The bodies could be that of Jimmy Allen Williams, 16, Leah Gail Johnson, 18, and Thomas Michael Rios, 18. The teens were reported missing November 20, 1970, last seen riding around Sayre in Jimmy's 1969 Chevrolet Camaro.

That will be cool if they find out for sure who the folks are. It will only bring up more questions on how they got there however.

I saw Elk in a fence along side I-40, MM 22, at Elk City. Hard to imagine there's a lake nearby. Seems there's no depression deep enough, and also the wind would blow it dry.......

P.S.
Guy at our camp won "Best Muscle Car" in a car show here last weekend..........for his 1969 Chevelle.

Dang! That last group were my peeps. I was also 18 and graduated h/s in '70.

So, two 18 yr. olds in the car and the 16 yr. old was the one with a brand new Camaro? Must'a had a rich daddy. What the heck is the legal driving age in Oklahoma anydamnway? Sounds like he may have been driving with a learner's permit and fucked up big time. Sad.

Can you imagine coming up on something like that?

Well, now ya' know where to dump the body if you ever kill anyone. Heck, you'll be long gone before they ever find out about it. ;)

If it is those kids.... There's very well could be no family left to even notify. Maybe a brother or sister.
They probably didn't have kids if their own, and parents likely gone.
