Over 850,000 NON essential federal employes when back to work today. That's just the NONESSENTIAL....
If folks don't think there is room for some serious belt tightening in Government, then I'm glad my run here is about over.

It's ridiculous.
On the other hand, a lot of them are the people that are opening the gates to the campgrounds, boat ramps, national forests and museums. And I like all those.
But something does need to drastically change.

How were the signs, custom printed, showing individual specific areas to be closed, hung the very day???? Who printed them in advance? Who hung them?

Every single place had a custom sign saying "Campground Piddleywad, Arkansas is now closed due to Government Shutdown". They weren't generic signs. They weren't posted days later. They went up immediately.

How'd that happen?

The parks and ramps I tired to access were simple word docs in a plastic cover. Very low budget and last minute looking. Just my personal observation.

Maybe they were brought out of storage from the last time it happened. :D
They'll be put back in storage till January.

They'd have been in storage for the past 17-18 years from the Clinton days Sunny. I dunno ... they look pretty new to me. ;)
