how do we set up a avatar? When I go to edit avatar it won't let me deselect "don't use avatar"

Trav, have you tried selecting the 'use custom avatar' option? That may change the 'don't use avatar' setting I don't know. When I go to your profile can see your avatar. Or maybe you broke it.

I'll look at it today, Trav. funny, but when I look at your profile I can see your avatar picture. I'll look at it and see if I can figure it out.

so after browsing around it looks like only the admin's have Avatars. I see one when you post Barry and also on LJ, Niner & Cappy post but that is it.

You have the pic set as your Profile Pic. It needs to be set as your Avatar.
At least that's what I THINK the problem is.
