My son Dan and I traveled down through football country to the state 4a semis where we watched myhometown Poteau Pirates beat the OKC Douglass Trojans 27-20. It was one of the best football games I've ever seen. Next Friday I plan to head out to Stillwater for the state finals where Poteau takes on the Anadarko Warriors. Yep, a primarily indian school with a mascot called the 'Warriors'. Go figure. Meanwhile up in Tulsa, the Union Redskins are getting raked over the coals for their mascot.
Anyway, its the first time we've gone to state since way before my time. It supposed to be about 20 and sleeting in Stillwater next Friday. Perfect football weather!
