I get requests throughout the year, but around this time it seems they come in the mail weekly.
I'm a member of the American Legion so I donate time and money to them, I also like the VFW and we've given to the Paralyzed Vets of America.
Not a big fan of Wounded Warriors because of their past track record.
I may have missed some but just wondering what youse guys do.

Special Operations Warrior Foundation for me. http://www.specialops.org/

But the main charity I donate to is an orphanage in Thailand, The Father Ray Foundation. I was there when he started the orphanage in 1974 and I was also there when Father Ray passed away in 2003. He provided a cemetery plot (mass grave) to bury many of the kids killed during Operation Baby Lift. I got to know Father Ray at that time and always visited the cemetery as well as spent time with the kids at the orphanage whenever I visited Thailand (which, until recently, was twice/year, a month at a time). http://www.fr-ray.org/en/ (video below)

If interested ... here's a letter published by a lady who was writing a book on Operation Baby Lift. Before she finished the book, she became ill and put it on hold. I've lost contact and don't know if she ever published it or not. Scan down to "Burying Bodies in Thailand". (I wrote this for her almost 8 years ago). http://www.babyliftrevisited.typepad.com/

I still have dreams from time to time of pulling little bodies out and then feeling around for extra body parts in the bags. :(

Oh, Bubba ... I almost forgot. FYI, "Paralyzed Vets of America" has a totally crappy track record also. There are four chapters, I assume your contribution goes to the Michigan chapter which has a totally shitty record. http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=12781#.UqEkR8RDu8A

Here's a good site to check out charity performance: http://www.charitynavigator.org/
