Looks my team must be in the "Cereal Bowl". I'll be pulling for FSU as well, but don't like their chances much.

It ought to be a donnybrook of a game (FSU-Auburn). There's something about Malzahn that rubs me the wrong way. Not sure what it is, but prolly has something to do with how he's used schools as stepping stones to get where he is now. Of course nobody chided Bill Self for that in basketball but still.....he left a lot of recruits in his wake pretty disappointed I imagine.

I think I'm pulling for FSU in this one.

I don't follow college football and the coaches like a lot of you, but I don't think it's fair to criticize a coach for leaving recruits in his wake. As long as you are a college coach you will have incoming recruits. The only way not to leave some in your wake is to keep the same job for eternity.

I don't think they need to stay forever. But I think they at least need to stay more than a year or two. check out Malzahn's career track so far. Never stays more than a year or two anywhere. In a profession that is supposed to at least have a modicum of commitment to developing young people, a career track like this is pretty sad. That's just my opinion.

Tell me one coach with any initiative about himself, at all, who hasn't used stepping stones....that's just the good ole hard-work and free- enterprise system at work, and available to all of us....in most cases, I look at that as a coach, who has a goal to climb the ladder towards a better life for himself and his family, and that's the only way available for them to do it.

Agreed, there are glaring exceptions, and Malzahn may very well be one....I don't know his goal in life.

I'm not an Auburn fan, but one thing is for certain....he may not be a good coach, but he is one helluva player-motivator.

His boys play with passion and reckless abandon!!!....but, so does FSU, and there WILL be blood spilled !!! ;)

What they need to do is allow a window to transfer without penalty when a coach leaves. The only ceveat should be that they can't follow their current head or assistant coaches.

No offense, Phole, but I hear the Auburn fans are calling Bammer's appearance in the Sugar, "sloppy seconds".

Hope ya'll smack 'em reall good!!!

Haha, well if it is or isn't, we're real happy to see it! We're playing so we have a chance to beat them. How much of one is really hard to tell. But this edition of the Sooners can play really good at times, they just don't do it consistently. That's either the symptom of a really young team (which they are) or a poorly coached one. Unfortunately I've seen too many instances this year where the coaching was a fault for losses. There is simply no excuse ever for an Oklahoma team to be as ill prepared to play as the Sooners were this year at Texas. We should NEVER be flat in a Texas game. and that is the sole responsibility of the coaching staff, to get them ready to play. Against Baylor, our defense fell totally apart. I thought that was another lack of adjustment. We'll see what happens against the Bammers.

I agree that they need to do something about allowing transfers when a coach leaves. They argue that the kid signs to a school and a program not to a coach, but the coach is what really brings players in. Even 'Bama couldn't get recruits if they had an absolute asshole (to the players) or a complete idiot, as a coach. The history of the school doesn't mean anything to the kids coming in. Look what's happened to Notre Dame. Kids used to want to play there just because it was Notre Dame and they would be on TV, but now everyone gets on TV and if they aren't competitive, the kids won't sign.

I think that's the biggest problem people have when a coach changes jobs every couple of years. If he's moving up, that just means he's doing a good job where he's at.

BTW, my team didn't even make the Toilet Bowl this year. They were that bad. (Boiler Up! Thank God it's basketball season.)

Appears we at 3-9 didn't make that list.

However, we're about where auburn and Missouri were this time last year.

I am a Hokie fan and will pull for FSU just so an ACC team can win. However after watching them last week, I am not a Famous Jameis fan. He is just like Tom Brady and whined to the refs after every unsuccessful play.
