We were supposed to be lucky. Until today, there was winter storm warnings to the northwest of us and flash flood warning to the southeast of us. We were in a band of nothingness that was about 50 miles wide.

Now we're in a band of pink shit that looks a lot like ice moving our way and I'll bet you could find a dozen eggs at the store if you tried. Looks like we're in for the schnit the next day or two.

Time for a trip to the liquor store.

My brother-in-law gave me a mason jar of "applie pie" flavored shine for Christmas. I'm just waiting for some bad weather to crack that bad boy open.

Sunny and the mid-80's all weekend for us. Sheeesh, these winters are brutal! ;)

Ha! I'll be in Miami Beach between Christmas and New Year's and just looked at the 10 day. Too damn hot for my liking...

I started my winter beard almost a month early this year. I usually grow it from the winter solstice to spring equinox but we got slammed early this year with winter so I said what the heck. Its a laziness thing anyway.

Happy Saturnalia to ya! I think I may need to raise a glass tonight to the sun. After all it is the shortest day of the year and it's all downhill from here, right? well at least till june when the long days of summer are back.

Nope. But it sure sounds like a good time. I thought it was the roman winter solstice dealy which probably involved more trips to the vomitorium and a bunch of stuff that'd make Phil Robertsom gag on a hundred.

A period of wild partying and lawlessness for about 10 days around this time..............

I used to hear that the Roman calendar only accounted for 355 days, so they had a 10 day orgy with no actual dates associated with it, at end of each year. But I dunno if that's true or not.
