Had a great trip out to where folks learned to fly!
Friday afternoon hunt was a bit hot for the ducks to fly. I put my Lawyer and Hammerhead out at the impoundment and I headed back to the motel to work on the boat while they hunted.
My buddies boat would crank but there was no power to the console or any instruments. I was hoping it was just a fuse but no such luck, fuse was good. Long story short I got it fixed but not until I had to run a "main" power wire up front.
Hammerhead killed a pair of Ringnecks Friday afternoon with one shot. Caught then crossing just right and busted both of them. He had a ball. I got back to the impoundment with about 20 minutes of shooting time and waded out to the blind to help them carry out.
Saturday morning was a good morning about 24 degrees and light wind. Walking into the blind I bet we had no fewer that 30 thousand (no kidding) ducks lift off the water and fly over. We settled in and had a wonderful morning Shooting out limit.
Back to the motel and picked up the boat and headed out into the sound. We spanked the trout, redfish, and small rock fish. They were calling for heavy rain and 39 knot winds today so we opted to load up and head back last night.
All in all it was a FAST but great trip.

He makes a pretty good retriever, don't he? That's what younguns are for!

My buddy Mallard says those rings on those jack's necks are the condoms they picked up at the sewage treatment plant where they stopped for breakfast.

I'll be sure to stock up on grub it we ever make that run Eddie.
Sure would love to do it one day before he gets out and starts his busy life with working, marriage, kids, etc. He's a good kid and I enjoy being around him.

Those aren't swans and your dog is ugly.

Great pics. I know how you feel about your son as I've got a couple similar in age. Heck, if I'da knowed how much fun they'd be to hang out with when they got older, I would have tried to find a way to fast-forward the teenaged years. ;)

You gents sure know how to have a good time.

As for Hammerhead, it appears you taught him well.

Glad to hear you got a chance to spend such a good time together.
