Thank God Allmighty! I'm free at last! The Virginia Senate just voted final approval to allow Sunday Hunting on private lands. It will now go to the Governor who has indicated he will sign it into law effective July 1. Sunday, July 6th I will be killing something.

There were times that I never thought I would live to see this happen...

Congrats! I wonder if the divorce rate will go up or down as a result?

Welcome to the 20th century. Seriously, I know y'all have been fighting this archaic law for some time now. Glad all y'all's hard work paid off.

Question. Does "private plans" include hunting leases? I sure hope so.

Yes on leases as long as the landowner permits it. What I've heard is write it into the lease and you'll be fine.

Wonderful. Now, someone will sue and win.............over "It ain't legal to allow stuff on leases and not public land".......

Oh, BTW........I ain't thinkin' stuff is in season to hunt on July 6.......but I know you Eastern Seaboarders do odd stuff.

One thing at a time when it comes to public land, Bucky. One thing at a time. (And, varmints are in season year round.)

Hmmmm.

Well, here............
Crow closes 02/21 and opens back 09/01
Coyote does open 07/01.........but it closes 02/28......except for the month of April, when it is open (Beats me, I just report this stuff)
We got no groundhogs (I have seen one, but no one believes me)
Raccoon opens 07/01
Squirrel is open year round EXCEPT March, April, and the first two weeks of May
