Well...several reasons for that I guess. But the biggest reason is that my father in law told me to (and he's smart)

About every 4 years for us now that we only have two people living in the house.
I have a two tank system, 1200 and 800 gal's.
It's cheaper to have them pumped than replaced.

We've been in this house since Dec 2000. Haven't had her pumped out yet. With just the wifey and I we don't "fill 'er up" I guess.

One thing that we've done on every septic system we've always been on is to put a packet of yeast down the drain every month.
