Any chance you want to skip over and buy me this gun? :)

From another site:
Guys, I was going to get this and turn a quick profit on it, but money is just too tight right now. Other day, I was at Lakelands Gun & Pawn here in greenwood SC, and they had a Remington 788 in 22-250 for $289! Gun has the longer barrel, weaver base and does not have the iron sights. it is possible that the stock was refinished, but it was certainly very-very well done. No joke, the metal is an easy 98%, really super-nice!

I have no dog in the hunt here, I do not know the persons there or any of that, just saw a good deal, but as I just traded my Glock for a Higgins 50, I am just too strapped. If you want to give 'em a call, the number is 864-229-1014

Just passin' it on!

That's about 2 hours south of me. I'll be glad to call them and run down and pick it up if you are serious.
Let me know.

Wouldn't turn down a gun like that if I found it locally I know that much. Just posted it here in case YOU were interested.

Thanks for the offer but not worth the effort.

I sold out of 22-250's and probably won't get another. I've got a Cracker Jack little 204 Ruger that is the cats ass right now.

So you like the .204? Is that something that a person can reload for?

Yes you can reload them.
I'm not married to the 204 like I am the 25-06. I just happened to pick up a REALLY nice rifle and a butt load of ammo for a song and having fun with it.
It will turn a crow into a black feather pillow at 200 yards all day long.
I have no clue what it would be like on a yote' ???

Bwana I have a scary accurate .204 with a 4.5-14 VX3 Leupold CDS scope that I'm considering selling. However I'd bet it's more than you are wanting to spend.

Thanks BS, not really looking but would not turn down a 788 in .22-250 for that price.

Neighbor kid is trying to collect all the 788 calibers. Did he say there were 8? maybe? I think he maybe only lacks a couple. 788s got hard to find here. Super-fast lock time resulted in a lot of them being bastardized for competition... and I agree Bwana - I'd be all over it and I don't even need one. ;)

I'll be glad to run down there and pick it up for either of you. It would be a couple hours down and a couple back but I'd be glad to do it.
I've got a buddy that does transfer/shipping to your local FFL dealer.
If either of you are serious, we could call and see if he still has it and I'll run down to pick it up.
Just let me know.

Pass. I know you'd be glad to - and thank you - but I wouldn't ask you to (unless it was something I *really* wanted.) ;) I have a 700 in 250 and it sits in the safe since I bought the .223.

Thanks again for the offer Cappy but I would not put you out that way. Hell, if you were to spend those four hours of drive time you could kill yourself a whole pickup load of turkeys and that is just something I could not take away from you.

Not to mention $400 worth of gas to pick up a $300 gun. ;)
