I'll be attending a potluck with some friends. My contribution will be ribs, hot links and a big old pot of pinto beans and cornbread. I'm sure there will be various casseroles, pies, chicken and side dishes. Hope somebody brings a few burgers

We are at the Chicot lakehouse, all alone, and the solitude feels pretty day'um good.

We decided not to cook, so we hit our favorite country buffet in Lake Village, J-J's Cafe.

Butter beans, purple hull peas, boilt cabbage, cornbread, yeast rolls, mustard greens, taters/gravy, fried chicken, roast beef/gravy, catfish, coleslaw, nanner pudding, and cherry cobbler.

Oh yeah, and a 30 foot long salad bar !!! ;)

if you got peas, cornbread and nanner puddin why would you need a salad bar?

Going to have steak on the grill with baked potato, fresh peas, fresh strawberries and salad.
Sugar free ice-cream for desert.

Been watching the Indy 500.
Usually don't watch it, but Jim Nabor singing was very touching. Hadn't seen him in years!

These last 10 laps with the wreck are keeping my attention.

Smoked a 10# boston butt on the BGE. Took 1/2 of it to my neighbor as a "Thank You" for watching our house whilst we was in TX fer my checkups.

I also made up a big pot of BBQ beans.

Not sure if we'll eat the BBQ, or....I might get a wild hair and make a Smoky Pizza on the Weber Grill.....ya just never can tell.

We've had thirteen adults here since last Thursday night. Smoked two butts Friday that we've been gnawing on for sammies all weekend. Steaks on Saturday and burgers and brauts last night. Everyone is headed back to mizzou today so it'll be a big breakfast and leftovers today.

Well, so much for our solitude....kids just called and are coming over this afternoon to water ski and go tubing.

That'll put a damper on my, fooling around with grandma, today. ;)

Luckily, we got some ribs and pork loins in the freezer....guess I'll be smoking and boat-driving for the rest of the day.

Well, you were looking REAL good for a minute there Ticboy .... BUT that super-yuppie bottle of Starbuck's Frappuccino on the table is an automatic disqualification. You can't simply hide the label to try avoiding detection by the judges. Sorry. ;)

I saw that too and I think its a bottle of some fruit flavored beer.

That's a virginia brewed lager for the little woman. No Starbucks at this shindig!

THAT'S a BEER??? What's it brewed with? Chocolate milk? That should be a disqualification anydamnway! I don't know ... youse NoVa dufes can be a tad sneaky. You sure you didn't rip off the top of the label to disguise it? ;)

Dude... it's practically CLEAR, the bottle has condensation on it... I'm being unfairly harassed!

Condensation??? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! I think we need a Good Hunting vote on this one. Afterall, your Yuppy record has been pretty much established through the years. Condensation! Now THAT'S a stretch! What's that bottle sweating? Chocolate milk? ;)

You can see the colors of her shirt reflected thru the bottle. Sheriff is on his way to collect your Junior Noticer badge.

Yuppie beer or not that is a fine looking meal though the 60 lbs of butts we had for my son's graduation party was pretty fanged tasty too.

Looks like a Bold Rock Virginia Apple to me. Yuppy or not, they are pretty tasty.

Winner winner Baseball coach. The little woman loves them. A little too sweet for my taste.

I confess to loving them too. Too sweet to have more than one but very tasty. They taste very close to my grandfathers cider after it sat a few days to get hard. Every first drink brings back memories of crushing and squeezing apples while fighting yellow jackets.
