Whilst perusing all of the different lure selections at the Gander Mtn the other day, I cam across one that I'd never heard of but looked quite interesting....

This was the X-Rap from Rapala. It looks like it might be one I may need to add to my tackle collection.

When you get to the page, hit the "Video" tab on the page and watch the videos....

Rap-a-la's are a very good bait for Browns up here, we use them for trolling on long lines and planer boards.
That looks like it would be a great bait to try. To bad I don't fish anymore.

I fish a bunch or different Rapala top water baits.
I've never used that one however. I'd say if they make it it's got to be a pretty good lure in its place, water color, wind conditions etc....
Do you remember the whole "Shad-Rap" crap that went on back in the mid 80's?

Watched the video and though I can see where it would work in certain circumstances, what does it look like when only trolled behind the boat? That stop and twitch things looks like WAY too much work for a sport that is supposed to be relaxing. :)

I have a few Rapala's that look very similar ... mine "may" be a bit darker blue. It's my go-to back-up for Canada Walleye and Pike when I get tired of using the fluorescent orange ones. I don't recall the model numbers off the top of my head.

They are quite popular with smallie fisherpersons on the Ribber.
