A while back, I picked up a shitload of Griswold cast iron skillets at an estate sale. The very next week, I found a nice Wagner skillet. I just cleaned and seasoned the Wagner as well as a large Griswold and they're looking pretty dang nice! Lettin' 'em cool down now so I can take a closer look. Will prolly throw 'em up on The Bay next week. I still have 4-5 (can't remember how many) chrome Griswolds ... but Lynn seems to have confiscated them. I'll prolly get them cleaned up and seasoned once these others are sold.

Those chrome ones are cool. Wish I had some disposable income or I'd buy 'em from ya.

The "older" dutch ovens (with lid) are bringing pretty good money Hidey-Ho.

Careful CD. We have already established that Thumpers pots cost more than a trip to the islands.... ;)

CD, the only one's I have cleaned and seasoned so far are the 10 1/2" Griswold. It's the large block logo (1920-1940) #8 704D. (persactly like this)

3210 3211

The other is a Wagner's 6 1/2" skillet (like below). I have no clue when this was made but Wagner sold out to Textron in 1959. Anyway, here's the little 6 1/2" Wagner (it has the seasoning instructions cast into the bottom of the pan) BOTH pans sit flat and have no warpage.

3213 3214

I also have a set of 4 (different sizes) Griswold large block logo chrome pans. (6", 9", 10 1/2" and 11") Like this one ...

Yeah - well #0 brings a bit of a premium. ;) I also have a Gris skillet and chicken fryer I use daily. Cast is hotter than hell - pun intended - right now. Sell 'em.

That cleaned up really nicely, Jim. The 6.5" Wagner is from their 100th anniversary in 1991. So, not that old. It looks to be in excellent shape. HH is right about CI being sky high right now. So, it's good time to sell. I'd jump on it, but I'm really looking for a replacement for a really old piece of Piquaware I have that's cracked. (And, it's a bigger skillet.) If you ever come across something like that or a grill/griddle that goes across two burners, give me a shout. Also, if you run across a CI Bundt pan, grab it. Those things are bringing crazy money.

I'll sure keep an eye out for that stuff. I run across a lot of CI, but most of the people selling know what it's worth. I don't fool with it unless I have lot of room to work with ... especially since the postage for that heavy stuff really eats into any profit margin.

I have two 'chicken fryers' that are actually Lodge and like HH, mine get a pretty frequent use. Honestly though, they don't get used for frying chicken that much. I have a big Wagner skillet that fries up chicken better than anything on the entire friggin' planet earth. I don't know what they're called, but I want one of the big ass skillets that are just a tad deeper than a regular cast iron skillet and has a handle on the off side to help lift it.
Pretty sure the one Bassdog had that I saw was a Wagner.

This Wagner is at auction right now starting out at $27.00 ($10 + $17 shipping) There are prolly more, this is just the first one I spotted.

My Dutch is a Lodge, too, Phole....I think the one I fry all my fish in is a 12 inch....after frying up fish, I just put the lid on it, while it's still hot.
While cooling down, the lid seals itself for an airtight seal....keeps the oil really fresh, too....I just set it on a shelf in the pantry until I use it, again....I can usually get 12-15 cookings before changing the peanut oil.

Oh, heck, I don't even have it listed yet. That's a pic I pulled off the net ... mine is persactly like it and the same condition. I just cleaned and seasoned it, but haven't taken any pics. I'll probably hold it 'til next weekend before I list it, so there's no rush.
