"wheely" (4 wheeler) question.

I'm looking at maybe buying my FIL's 2005 Honda TRX400FA.

He bought it from my BIL back in 08, with 180 miles on it. Now it's got maybe 250 miles on it. It sits is his garage, and it gets started about once a month, idles...and shut off. Me and my boys drive it around when we are up there 2-3 times a year.

So - all in all...I Know it's in excellent shape.

Anyone have any background or knowledge of this model? Good? Bad?

Oh yeah, don't forget my famous two words....Sea Foam....because it's been sitting up, run some Sea Foam thru the fuel tank, and you oughta be good to go.

Eddie covered it well. You will not go wrong with the Honda.
If it's got a little age on it pressure wash it well and spray the WHOLE thing down with either WD-40 or Armorall. Under the fenders motor remove the seat and spray under it. EVERYWHERE. Soak all the plastic (and metal) good and let it set in without wiping off the excess.
It will really help keep the plastic and rubber where it will not crack easily. It also makes the mud that comes off next time you wash it much better.

Cappy - this thing looks like It just came off the showroom floor. I highly doubt it's EVER been in mud.
Up and down the gravel road is all I've ever known it to go.

But- the plastic is 9 years old and I will do as you suggest.
