Pulled this old alum. boat outta the bushes, yesterday, to give to a friend.
Turned it over, and found this huge beehive in there.
Hope to run them off, without harming them, then get the honey.

If you didn't get stung once or twice, I'd say you're a pretty lucky dude!

Contact a local bee keeper or two. A lot of those guys go crazy over getting free bee's. They'll come get them and let you keep the honey.

Take pictures of "running them off without harming them and then getting the honey".

I suspect that'll be worthy pictures. Just my guess! :)

We've had record low temps for several days, so the bees were not very active....didn't get stung, at all.
The only bee guy around here charges minimum of $100 bucks to remove wild bees....more, depending on difficulty.

I don't want to harm the bees, so I'm gonna just throw a water hose into the boat, and let it fill up....bees will leave, then, I'll quickly pull out the combs before they get soaked or damaged.

Uhhhh, sorry Cap, but I'm not the brave up-close-bee-removal-type guy....I'm more of a throw-a-waterhose-in-the-boat-and-run like hell type guy. ;)

Water spoils honey.

Sky, the bee man says spoilage from moisture will take some time because of the wax coating of the comb.... I'm planning on being on the combs within minutes of the bee's exit....got a buddy with an old head net, and old honey extractor that I can use, too.

I'll let ya'll know the outcome. ;)

Hope his wife will video tape this.
I can just see him running like hell with the bees after him.

he'll run like a one legged duck with that tractor flattened foot.

Ha ha ha ha! I have no clue why ... but I have absolutely NO problem imagining a flat-footed one-legged duck running! I think I blew a bugger out'ta my nose when I read that! ;)

We need an update Eddie. For some reason I see a deer roping story coming out of this. ;)
Don't worry about harming the bees. Taking their entire hive of honey this late in the year is gonna doom them anyway. Even if the hive lives they will not make winter without the honey from the spring flower-up.
