all this is happening where I work. A deputy who is running for County Judge is picketed by women who claim he molested them as children. The county treasurer is indicted for embezzlement charges which now amount to about a quarter mil. Her husband, the county sheriff has a preggie mistress and questions of his own to answer to the state auditors and a deputy murdered while helping a homeless man.

Seems like once a week I have to dodge people with cameras and microphones. this a county of less than 7500 people.

It don't pay much but it ain't never dull

I don't mean in the town where I work, I mean the building where I work. I work for the county and this this is happening one floor above me or right next door. Any time I see a crowd gathering in the parking lot with a news truck, I tell the judges secretary, "I'm walking over to the library to check the fire extinguishers. She just smiles and waves me away. That's our code for, I'm going to go to the library and log in to Good Hunting.

All this has taken place in 2014

Well, I like and understand the sheriff's answer about buying the $292 boots because he tore up a pair of $400 boots, working an accident.

Heck, if the man is a good sheriff, and that's all the folks gotta bitch at him for, then buy the man a pair of new boots !!! ;)

the $400 boots probably came out of that 1/2 mill his wife embezzled

Hahaha.....they'll play hell proving that, if the sheriff has got a lick of budget/paperwork sense and a buddy at the western shop. ;)

Since you mention it, why do most sheriffs dress up like cowboys, anyway???....most of 'em are elected city slickers, and wouldn't know a horse turd from a green salad....yet, most of them wear cowboy boots and cowboy hats....I guess they might visualize themselves, as being Texas Rangers....nothing wrong with it, I was just wondering.

Cap, I ain't talking about you, brutha....I KNOW you can tell a horse turd, when you see one. ;)
