Lots'o people collect beer related stuff ... signs, clocks and even beer cans. I have a couple sets of Billery Beer and Dolelightful Beer cans (full) and was researching prices.

Anyway, while looking at beer can prices, I stumbled on an auction that just closed on eBay ... a set of seven James Bond 007 beer cans (they were EMPTY) and sold for $7000.00!!! The single cans are going for $600 each! Damn! These people get serious about their beer cans! (BTW, I've never seen these before)

Here's a full set ... prolly not a coinky-dink there are 7 to a set. Any o'youse rednecks gots some'o these rollin' around in the bed of your pick-up? ;)

Come to think of it, I do have an unopened 24 oz can of Budweiser with Dale Jr's picture and number 8 on it. That worth anything?

Funny you should mention this. My Mom recently sold her house and in going through the garage attic we found something that I'd just about forgotten about.

Do any of you remember back in the 70's and early 80's, that beer can collecting was a big craze? Well, I got into it and we found my collection still in that attic of Mom's garage. I thought about just getting rid of it and letting her sell it with the other stuff she was selling, but I decided to keep it just for old times sake. I didn't take the time to really look through it all, but I saw a lot of cans that I thought were pretty interesting. I had some from all over the country and several foreign brands as well. I did see several Billy beer cans as well as some World's Fair Beer that was put out for the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, TN.

There were several really old steel cans from quite a few breweries that I know are no longer in business like Falstaff and Old Crown, both of which were brewed in Fort Wayne, IN which is where I lived as a kid.

Sounds like fun Deppity! I haven't really spent much time researching beer cans ... the one's I've stumbled across that I "thought" might be worth something, have always disappointed me. I've had pretty good luck with old oil cans ... you can many times find them in an old shed or barn. Problem is, we don't have much of that type stuff down here. BUT ... as you can see by the above beer cans, the possibilities are out there. I really should start digging around and learn what's what in that market. Half the fun of this eBay thing is the learning process. 'Course it can also be very disappointing ... I couldn't tell you how many items I've come across and passed over without giving them a second thought ... only to find out later they were valuable. One thing I've avoided is stuff like china, porcelain, antique dishes, etc. Now I did pick up this little (4") cat a couple weeks ago for pennies ... I guess I should have auctioned it, but I listed it as a "Buy-It-Now" for $100 and somebody scarfed it up immediately. I really should learn about this stuff as there's good money to be had at times ... problem is, it kinda bores me.

Lynn and I will be out of town for a weekend at the beach, but there's an interesting sale in the neighborhood I'll miss this weekend. I know the lady hosting the sale, but she takes VERY few pics of the stuff that interests me the most and seems to zero in on furniture, china, silver service/flatware, etc. She normally takes a few quick pics of the garage but usually doesn't get very involved. Here are a few pics from this weekend's sale ... I always figure, where there's smoke, there's fire. If she has a couple pics of hunting/fishing stuff ... there's usually a lot more to be discovered. These are just a few hints (I call 'em teasers) of what might be hidden in this place. I wish I were gonna be there to dig around a bit. :(

Dang Thump I wish I could go to that sale. There are some clues in that reel pic that tells me there will be some quality stuff there. I imagine living in Florida with all the blue hairs that you can really clean up at some of those estate sales.

I have no clue what I'm looking at there B/S as I avoid bait casters like the plague. To me, fishing has always meant grabbing my old beater Mitchell 300 on a "who knows what" brand pole. BUT ... I still catch fish in spite of myself! :D

It's really hard to see what's what from that pic ... but if there's anything you can't live without, let me know and I'll see if there's one in the pile tomorrow. (I've decided to go anyway) We're going to the beach Sat-Mon, so I won't be there for half-price day ... but I do know who's putting on the sale and they'll usually work with me.
