Thanks guys! I just now got my last chore done and last of the truck loaded. Now I'm gonna get myself loaded and to bed by 8:00. Up and at 'em at 2:00 AM and outta here by 2:30. We'll pass through Clear Lake Iowa, that most historical place for aviation about noon tomorrow and Hibbing, Mn the birthplace of good old Bob Zimmerman by 6:00 tomorrow night where we'll overnight. Out of Hibbing by 8:00 or so Satuday and pass through Chisolm, Mn where old Doc 'Moonlight' Graham has his medical practice and on to the lake by noon Saturday.

I'm jazzed! Hope I can at least sleep an hour or two tonight.

I'm jealous. Reminds me of my old carefree days. :(

Got lots of plastic worms? Do you do any bottom bouncing or just troll cranks? Man, I miss walleye fishing! Have a great time and take lots a pics.

We troll cranks at night and do some casting, some jigging, and even a little daytime trolling. We haven't used live bait in probably five years.

I added dropshot to my technique last year and have been practicing. I hope it pays off this year for some bigger smallies.

Not "live" bait, plastics like these:

Use in place of live worms on a bottom bouncer/ spinner rig and work structure at depths where you can see fish on the sounder. Great for inactive fish that are hugging bottom.
