The time has come to take my first born to college this weekend. VCU. It's a good thing she's sooooo excited to go and start her adventure/education. Without her enthusiasm I'm not sure I'd be able to handle it all. I'm excited for her too, don't get me wrong. It's just the relationship I have with my kids is... I dunno. This is gonna sting.

I'm gonna seriously miss that kid. The 2 hour drive will seem like 2000 miles I think.

hopefully I can make it back to my truck before I lose my shit :)

Hang in bud. Life happens to us all. She's good, she needs independence, and you need a beer.

I feel for you Len as we will be hauling my oldest to college next Friday. Given he is a boy MIGHT make it a bit easier though I am doubtful, the fact he will be SIX hours away does suck!

Going to do my darnedest to stay upbeat about it but it is definitely going to be tough on both the missus and I, but probably more so on little sister.

Might want to start sneezing a lot now so you can blame it all on allergies when the dam breaks.

Best wishes.

Mama cried for all three boys, nine years apart, I guess it's part of being a parent.
Be sure and tell your daughter the next 4 years will be some of the best in her life, they will go by very fast and be sure to enjoy every moment.
She'll make friends that will last longer than she's had in her previous 12 years in school, there is also a very good chance she'll meet her future mate also.
College is such a great life changer.
This same thing goes for you John, boys are no different.

Good luck to you guys as I know I'd be a basket case. Heck, I'm having enough trouble wrapping my head around my oldest starting high school in a couple if weeks.

Just wait until you're Empty Nesting. Now THAT is a fun part of your life.....IF you have the right partner.

Amen. That's what I wuz tryin' to say. If you EVER get 'em all paid for........which is turning out to be quite the challenge, and not one of the boxes that they list for you to check in your "Retirement Planning Worksheet".

Dang Lenster, I saw the title to this post and figured it was a personal crisis of a different sort. I was gonna offer to send you a couple of my Viagras to see if they'd help. I guess not in this case. Good luck ... ya' gots ta' let go sometime!
