Wow! I just got home from an estate sale and came home with a whole truckload of goodies. Only spent $40, but that's normally a LOT for me. ;)

I'm still going through all the cool stuff I found and should be able to turn that $40 into about $250 or so. Whatever is left at 2:00 today, will be 1/2 price. The sale happens to be almost walking distance from my house, so I may drop in to see what's left. There were quite a few items I was interested in, but just didn't want to pull the trigger this morning. At 1/2 price, I'd jump all over them ... so we'll see.

Anyway, I dug this old, metal Coleman cooler out of the garage. It appears to have never been used and the inside looks like the day it left the factory! There are a few very minor dents and scratches here and there, but they just look like places where something may have bumped it while stored in the garage. Hardly worth mentioning really. This is from the good ol' days when there was a bottle opener on both ends.

The only bummer? I remember these (I assume all of them) came with a plastic tray inside for dry stuff like sammiches, etc, but I didn't find the tray. But then again, those were the days before Zip-Lok bags and sammiches usually got wrapped in wax paper, so it's no biggie. Anyway, I just couldn't pass it up at $2.00!! (this is off the net, but mine is in as good, or possibly even better condition. (haven't taken pics yet)

You are the good deal God.
I could not do what you are doing. I'd have to keep everything.

Picked up sumpin' you'd love Cappy. The guy was a NASCAR fan and I picked up a 400 channel programmable scanner with all the papers, a Nascar case thingy with strap, extra battery pack, battery charger, ear phones and prolly sumpin' I'm forgetting. Inside the case I found a print-out of all the teams and the frequencies they were using ... prolly from the last race he attended.

Dang! I just looked in the pockets on the case for the first time and found an extra antenna (long one and short one) and a "splitter" so that two people can plug into the radio. It looks like brand new. Paid $15 for the whole lot.

What do you want for the cooler, Jimbo? Seriously....

I scored twice...........sold a rifle I never use and my utility trailer. Total $1100.00...........now I have enough to reimburse my worthless self for the 16' brand new trailer I just bought!!!! WHEW!

Not sure I'd ship the cooler Bucky. I bought it for a Craig's List deal, but shipping isn't out of the question. I just net more if I'm not paying through the nose for shipping. If you're gonna be anywhere between here and the Waco, Texas area the first part of October, I might be able to hook up with you. Otherwise, I just don't think it's practical to ship. Maybe Cappy will be coming to Disney sometime and I'll let him take it home with him. ;)

First, how much?

Second, I gotta get Cappy his cast iron cookware. Me OR Mama will be going to Charlotte area sometime.....I'm sure. But unless I'm going hunting sometime, I doubt I'm coming this fall. I'm too swamped. But someone will be.

And DUDE!! I'm already between there and Waco, TX!!!

That's a good cooler.
We have one and it does have a tray.
It also holds ice longer then our other coolers.
If you were closer, I'd buy it.

I might be coming to St Augustine in October for some fishing. However don't you think the gas from your place to St Augustine will be more than the shipping to Arkieland?
Of course you would get to spend time with me if you brought it up and we could get into some more trouble....
If it does work out I could fill the cooler up with Whiting and Pompano for the trip home. :D

Ummm, you DO realize these things are collectors items these days, right? People are paying crazy prices for nice ones. The description for this one is a perfect match for mine, but I don't have the tray. This one sold just yesterday for $140.45! I'd work you a deal ... I'm just not sure this is what you want.

Nah, not at those prices. Unless it's full of Cappy's fish fillets.

Go sell it.

Of course I wouldn't charge YOU that ... I just wasn't sure you were aware of how popular those things are. When I spotted it in that garage this morning, I 'bout knocked 6-8 people over trying to get to it. Nobody was giving it a second thought, but I wasn't gonna take any chances. :D

'Course, I could buy Cappy a bottle of brown likker and have him fill it for you. You'd prolly haf'ta fillet 'em yourself though. ;)

Actually, I had a GREAT day today and stand a chance of making a bazillion $$$ on today's purchases. I spent $40 this morning and should be able to turn that into about $250 - $300. I went back this afternoon (1/2 price started at 2:00) and I spent another $115.00! I'm still working on what kind of profit I can turn that in to ... but it's looking substantial so far. It was a good day! ;)

The new rotomolded coolers make this obsolete. But it'd be cool to have. My top bid is elebben dollars and ninety fourteen cents.

Will that be cash or check? I don't take checks originating in Arkansas.

I love it when things become obsolete. That means "collectible" in my mind! :D
