I was looking at a St Croix rod at the Gander Mtn the last time I was in there. It was the model TRS66LF for $79.99. Issat a good rod for general bass, crappie, trout, etc fishin'???

I have that rod for smallie fishing. Works real well, VERY light. good amount of ass to it when you need it.

Niner, I really don't know as all I've ever used are the Premiere and the Avid. Both of them are fantastic. I have no reason to think that model you posted wouldn't get the job done. Don't rule out Fennwick as they make some pretty darn nice rods as well in that price range.

Fenwick rules. My 6'6"HMX is every bit as good as my loomis bronzeback rod. It's a little heavier but I don't mind. The handle is a dream.
