Kershaw on short rest was his only real option. But five innings was all he should have expected. Cards know how to play the GAME....wait till starting pitcher tires, then kill the bullpen..........cause there are NOT enough middle/late relievers on earth, not quality ones. Starters and Closers, yes. Middle? No way.
We won a TON of softball trophies at age 40, 45, even 50........by knowing how the game was played. Cardinals do the same. No flash, just calm, steady stay-the-course, till WHAM. Like a cobra, they eat your neck.
