We often spend weekends away just to get away from the house. Lynn gets 12 free rooms/year at any Hyatt in the world as an employee perk. On top of that, she usually gets an additional 8-10 more for Christmas and if we use all of those, she gets her regular employee rate plus any food bought at the hotel is 50% off. So, we can have some pretty inexpensive weekends through-out the year.

Now we've been to a lot of Hyatts, but the one we're at this weekend has turned out to be one of our favorites. The hotel wasn't at capacity, so they upgraded us to a two-room suite and it's the tits! We have the Bay on one side (with the marina) for a nice sunrise view, and the Gulf on the other for some killer sunsets. I think we're gonna put this one on our list for a couple of repeat visits. Heck, it's only 55 minutes from the house and makes for a nice, easy, weekend getaway.

Dang, we'd planned to be here Fri-Mon, but Lynn decided to work Friday and we didn't come over until Saturday. We're kind of regretting it now, but I think we'll be coming back.

Ha! Looks like it P-hole ... but the Don CeSar is in St. Pete. We're at the Hyatt Regency in Clearwater Beach. We've stayed at a zillion Hyatts and many have had a lot going for them, but both of us have been super impressed with this particular property. So far, we haven't found ANY negatives and have totally enjoyed our stay. The bummer is, we'll be checking out at 12:30 ... one plus is, with the time change, we got an extra hour this weekend! ;)

Here's the Don SeSar and the Hyatt Regency ... very similar ... well, they're both pink anyway. ;)

I know right where that is. One of my old favorite beach hangouts used to be on Sand Key just below the pass into that marina behind where that hotel is now. Man there used to be nothing but sand along that beach. Now it looks like its all high rises. That's a shame. Pretty water and pretty sand all along there. Used to catch snook right by that channel that leads into the back side of the key too.

Why do they call islands keys instead of islands?

I had no clue Edward, so I had to look it up.

Looks like the baseline rooms start at $285. The one we're in is $410 and they go up to $635 per night.

It's a nice little employee spiff and really worked out well for us when we went to Hawaii for Lynn's brother's wedding ... all we had to do was come up with a plane ticket.

Yeah, we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but it's coming to an end. I'm gettin' ready to shit, shower and shave so we can head out. Gonna stop for lunch and head toward the hacienda to re-start the daily grind. :(
