I wish I could stay and have tea
but lo, I think I cannot
the call of the wild is in me
and I got to get off of the pot

I cannot explain why I do this
I've been asked oft times before
my mind is just a dark abyss
till I can get my butt out of the door

I oftentimes don't kill nuthin'
I just sit and look up at the sky
and wonder why that's satisfyin'
and why oh so happy am I?

I fight with the fellers I hunt with
yet they help me each time that I ask
we bite like we still had good teeth
but I hope they succeed at their task

The days are both long and they're short
they come and they go and they leave
then the memories of all our good cohorts
to the back of our mind we do heave

So the daylight grows shorter each hour
and the number of days shortens each
I strive to not view it as dour
but to make it my own private beach

I think of some of you sometimes
and some of you a bit more than most
and if little of this seems to rhyme
the go make your own dadgum post

OK. Have to hunt and peck on my BIG phone, but I'll do it. I bet there ain't much to tell........me bein' the mild mannered hunter that I am, and all........but I will.

Got to go blow the needles off the driveway, when it warms up a bit........and load the food......and then I'll head out.

Good luck, ours opens a week from tomorrow. Unlike you, two to three days is about the max I can do anymore.
Buts those days are special and look forward to them every year.
PS: Weather looks like it may give us a white opener, that would be frosting on the cake.

I hope you find old Mossy Tom standing broadside to you at 75 steps. Wait, make that 50 steps. then you might have a chance. and I hope you have good reception on your satelite dish.

Good luck, Bucky! Kill a biggun!

Damn, looks like you're hunting in July, I"d be looking for babes in bathing suits, not deer.
You need to make some quick shots and quick decisions in your spot.
This is what my stand looks like, although there should be snow on the ground. Tough to see brown on brown.

Hahaha..Cap, I guess I got x's and o's of the brain, with all the SEC action, this weekend. ;)

Got one. Open it up too much and they avoid it. If I can see them they can see me. One saw me ml season in that little open area to left and bolted. If more open he wouldn't even have made it that far.

It's open more if I turn around. Plus, remember we don't own it.

2nd day. New area.
