I celebrated Veterans Day by taking Matt and one of his buddies to the range. We went through about 100 rounds of 9mm Luger, 50 rounds of .45 ACP, and more .22LR and 7.62x39mm than I care to think about. The coolest thing was meeting a couple of guys who were shooting silhouette with black powder cartridges at 200 yards. (We were next to them at the .22 gallery having fun with the dueling trees.) This guy had a rifle dated 1861 that was presented to a private in the British Army by his Lieutenant for winning the competition. It sure is fun to hear those things go boom and then hear the delayed 'ding'. They were admiring Matt's Winchester Model 62 and I mentioned that his grandfather (my step father) gave it to him and it turns out they knew him well and we swapped stories for a bit. It was nice to reminisce about my favorite veteran for a bit.

If it gets any better than that I don't know it.
Congrats on spending some (more) major quality time with that hammerhead!
