We lost a local LEO (23+ years of service) yesterday to a scumbag who shouldn't have been on the streets in the first place. He'd been in and out of jail a bazillion times, was wanted for a parole violation, etc. etc. etc. The LEO was a father of 5 (or six, depending on which news org. is reporting) and was shot, then was run over as the perp fled the scene ... the LEO died in the hospital. RIP Officer Kondek.

I'm am so filled with anger that I haven't even really been able to talk about it or really form much of my thoughts around what happened so I stand with Hank.

As for the situation in Thumper's post, my sympathy to the family. How much news play do you suppose that situation will warrant? Such a sad deal.
