I remember standing in line at the record store in Memphis to make my purchase just before leaving home for my Freshman year of college. In the following months I just about wore that 8-track out! RIP Joe ... I was a huge fan. :(
P.S. Reports say he died of Small Cell Lung Cancer and Joe was a heavy smoker. My step-dad died of the same thing ... he was a heavy smoker all his life and the docs told him SCLC was almost 100% attributed to smoking. It's the same cancer that killed our own "Gator" a few years back ... another heavy smoker.
If any of you dufes haven't kicked those damn things to the curb yet, make it a New Year's resolution to try.
