Do you "look the mail" or "check the mail" or "go get the mail" or something else?
Around here we look the mail....
We got folks from all over US and our wonderful neighbors to the north and was just wondering?

We either "go to the post office" or " go get the mail" sometimes we "check the mailbox". We Arkansans are strange folk. Or maybe we're normal and everybody else is strange

Never thought about it ... I usually say I'm gonna go "check the mail" or go "get the mail".

When I had my business, I had a P.O. Box ... I'd say I'm gonna go "pick up the mail".

But go "look the mail"??? That's not even proper English. More like back-woods, mountain-hick talk. ;)

You got to go look at it before you can check it dufebutt

Well which is it? Do you say you're gonna "go look the mail" or you're gonna "go look at the mail"?

I guess you say you're gonna "go look at it and if there's any there, you'll bring it in"?? ;)

Actually, you have to check it before you can look at it, double-dufebutt. ;)

No you got to look it first, then get it, then check it. Triple dufebutt...

And some area transplant gave me hell for saying "look the mail" the other day and I just got to wondering if it was a regional thing....

Must be a Mathews thing ... or more than likely, a Plyler homestead thing ... quadruple dufebutt! :D

Well...depends on the time of day for me at this house...I know the carrier we have now runs by here about 2:00.
If I'm pretty sure the mailperson has made their run by my place, I'll say "I'm gonna go get the mail".
If the time day is such that I'm not really sure if they've ran or not, I'll say "I'm gonna go check on the mail".

I guess I could say "I'm gonna go look FOR the mail", but I don't.

I live in the burbs. It gets fed through a slit in the front door. So, there's no getting, checking or looking. Just bending over.

You look Gorilla. But what's that got to do with anything?

For the record. Hank lives closest to the seat of the federal government.

Well, that means he should be used to "bending over". ;)
